Renowned American composer, jazz pianist, Pulitzer Prize, and MacArthur Fellowship recipient John Harbison will appear in a concert featuring a composition from each decade of his life.
About John Harbison:
American composer John Harbison has composed symphonies, operas, string quartets and other chamber works, concerti, song cycles, sacred works, and a ballet. He as served as a composer in residence with the Los Angeles Philharmonic, Pittsburgh Symphony, as the head of the composition program at Tanglewood, and professor of music at MIT. He has composed for some of the world's greatest classical music organizations including the Metropolitan Opera, Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center, New York Philharmonic, Chicago Symphony, Boston Symphony, Minnesota Orchestra, and Seattle Symphony.
While best known as a composer, Mr. Harbison is also a skilled jazz pianist founding the Harbison Heptet and Token Creek Jazz Ensemble. (Read More)
